TUARA awards four Robert E. Witt First Generation Scholarships each academic year. Thanks to TUARA members’ donations and dues, the scholarship amount for each student is $1,000.

Each recipient must be enrolled full-time at UA, a resident of Alabama, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be the first member of their family to attend college, and have demonstrated financial need; preference is given to sophomores.  TUARA works with the campus admissions office to identify eligible candidates.

Two scholarships are awarded in each of the fall and spring semesters, and scholarship recipients are invited to attend the TUARA Annual Luncheon.
